Links

Rather than go into the biology and epidemiology of Guinea worm (GW) here, I've added a few links for those who are curious. The Emory Magazine article is, admittedly, mostly a PR piece highlighting the Emory/CC connection to GW eradication, but it highlights one of my predecessors in the Nkwanta District. There are thousands upon thousands of people working on Guinea worm eradication throughout Africa, from the village level to international leaders at the WHO; needless to say, they are not all Emory grads or Carter Center employees. Haven't seen the PBS series myself...anyone have a copy? And, to be fair, I threw in a dissenting opinion on Guinea worm eradication (which I assume is tongue in cheek...)
